3.10 - Qualifying
This sub-section outlines the rules relating to qualifying sessions during RSF1 events.
3.10.1
Drivers are reminded that it is their own responsibility to find free-space on the track when starting a flying lap. Cars that are on a flying lap DO NOT have to yield for a faster car approaching them from behind, even if the car behind is on a flying lap.
3.10.2
Drivers that are on an out-lap or an in-lap must yield to faster cars on flying laps without blocking or impeding them. Failure to do so will result in an investigation and possible penalties being applied.
3.10.3
Drivers that impede or block another driver that is on a flying lap will be subject to a qualifying ban for the next race they attend.
3.10.4
Drivers are not permitted to retire from qualifying sessions while they are out on track. Any driver that fails to retire in the pits will be subject to rule 3.8.3.
3.10.5
Drivers are reminded that they are subject to a qualifying ban for the next event they attend if they do any of the following during a qualifying session:
Drive too slowly around the track.
Drive backwards around the track or in the wrong direction for any reason.
Set an excessively slow lap time that is more than 1 minute slower than the fastest time set at that time.
Drive around the track on the wrong tyres deliberately (e.g. Intermediate or Wet tyres on a track that is considered Dry).
Any action deemed by the Stewards to be influencing the results of the session in any way.
Any action deemed by the Stewards to be disruptive to the session in any way.
